Bob Sims joins Aquafax
Aquafax, the UK distributor of technical marine equipment, has recruited Bob Sims to the team. Sims will be responsible for providing technical support to Aquafax’s trade partners, focusing on its marine electronics portfolio, B&G, Lowrance and C-Map brands, and will strengthen the company’s technical team.
In August 2021, MIN reported that Navico had appointed Aquafax as its preferred wholesaler for the UK.
Previously working for marine electronics specialist Raymarine, Sims has over 30 years of industry expertise and specialist knowledge. Whilst with Raymarine he was responsible for providing technical support to subsidiary sales offices, international distributors, retailers, and service dealers. In recent years, Bob has focused on full system support for UK OEMs and is an authority on autopilot installations.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Aquafax,” says Sims. “I look forward to working closely with our trade partners, sharing my knowledge and expertise where needed. Aquafax have made significant investment in their technical support offering, with a fantastic new facility at Hamble. They are best placed to service the requirements of suppliers and trade customers. I am proud to be part of this next chapter for Aquafax and will reaching out to old industry contacts to assist in growing Navico’s market share.”
“We have made significant investment in personnel over the course of 2021, ensuring we have the right team to support our broad portfolio and diverse customer base,” says Harry Heasman, Aquafax head of sales. “Electronics are a new product category for Aquafax and following our appointment as UK distributor for B&G, Lowrance and C-Map it was important we had the right team on board. Bob was our first choice to lead and grow the electronics technical team and we are pleased to have him join the business.”
