Burgess Asia sells 20th yacht

Burgess Asia is claiming a sales record in the region with five vessels brokered so far this year – this brings the total of yachts brokered by Burgess in Asia to five in 2021, so far – already as many as sold throughout 2019, its last record year.

Last week’s sale of the 52.3m (171.6ft) Amels Lind is the 20th large yacht brokered by Burgess’ Asia team since it started operating in 2015. Lind had been listed with an asking price of €25m. The average size of the 20 yachts was 51m, and more than half of the yachts were built in northern Europe.

As well as Lind, the company has closed on four other yachts for Asian clients this year: 44.2 metre Feadship motor yacht Moon Sand; 46.7 metre Heesen motor yacht Book Ends; 65.7 metre Amels yacht Ventum Maris; and a confidential deal involving a vessel of over 70 metres.

According to Burgess, the 20 superyachts it’s brokered since the operation was formally launched in Singapore in 2015 comprise some of the largest transactions globally for the period. They include the 85 metre Lurssen motor yacht Areti, which was purchased in 2019 with the Burgess Asia team representing the buyer.

Burgess’ 20-strong Asia team is spread over five offices (Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Phuket and Mumbai) and its Asia Desk in Monaco.
