Broker's Comments

* HEAVILY REDUCED - THIS BARGE IS NOW AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN PRICE. OVER £1m SPENT ON HER *

Boatshed London are delighted to offer this magnificent 25m Dutch Tjalk for sale.

A truly spectacular, fully working sailing barge that has had over £1m invested in it over the last few years and represents a fantastic opportunity for the right buyer to enjoy this boat as much as the current owners have. This Groningen Tjalk, one of very few left, has been brought back to its original condition so her beautiful, flowing lines are in tact and there has never been any extensions or alterations. The Groningen's were designed for coastal sailing and the hull is therefore much stronger than an inland barge with double ribbed beams internally.

The boat was surveyed in 2019 and repainted entirely in 2023.

Laid out with three cabins, one to the aft, a double cabin amidships and a master suite in the bow, this makes a great family liveaboard boat. The galley/saloon has very high ceilings and headroom is excellent throughout this barge. There is storage everywhere along with two separate heads, The storage area forward of the master cabin could be converted into an additional bathroom.

On deck, the rig and various winches needed for sailing are all in immaculate condition. The boat can be helmed with a tiller or with hydraulic steering which is controlled via a wheel or a joystick.

The boat is currently lying on a leasehold mooring at Plantation Wharf which is also available with the boat if required but the overall price would be increased to £795,000 to include this. The mooring is a mortgageable asset.

Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
