Broker's Comments

The Contest 29 is a strong and well built cruiser with a long and fully encapsulated keel. Capable of both offshore and coastal cruising, the 1.4m draft also enables her to access shallow creeks and harbours.

This clean and tidy example, which was kept by the same family for 34 years, is now being kept ashore ready for sale after an annual maintenance period. This included a hull scrub and anti foul, plus an engine service / winterisation.

The rudder has recently been removed, cleaned, serviced and fitted with a new Delrin bearing. This vessel benefits from a modern Beta marine engine, new standing rigging in 2016 and there is a recent survey available to view by genuine buyers

The wide side decks are easy to move around and the deep cockpit offers safety. The traditional wooden cockpit combings have recently been professionally repaired and are looking good.

She is clean, tidy and dry throughout, the interior has a traditional mahogany finish with plenty of storage. With 6’2” headroom, the upholstery appears to be in good condition as does the cabin sole.

An ideal first yacht, at an ideal price, for anyone wanting to cruise the coast, the channel or wander further afield.
