In 1993 it was purchased by the Foundation for the hull of the ship squat "Rhine and Zaan". The largely faded ship was restored by the shipyard Giessen- of the North, the shipyard that built the ship in 1879. They had restored and fully rigged the vessel returning her mid-1995 into service again. The ship is 16.65 meters long and 3 meters wide and currently under going a refit after having her main cabin coach roof extended improving the headroom.

This Dutch Kraak was built in 1879 at Van der Giessen in Capelle aan den IJssel. So it is 135 years old and was the oldest iron boat in the Netherlands. This was a unique sailing monument via the Dutch Ussel a barge maintained between Rotterdam and Alphen , A lovely vessel heaped with history which would make a fantastic home on the water.
