Broker's Comments
This lovely 13m Dutch Barge is medium length, but wider than most similar barges, meaning it can be easily turned around pretty much anywhere, whilst also offering a huge amount of comfortable living space. Please note however, that as with many Dutch Barges, the headroom is limited inside at approx 5’ 11” (180cm) in the galley/wheelhouse and slightly lower in the living area, do bear this in mind.
The galley is in the fixed wheelhouse as you enter the boat, separate from the main living area. Fitted with a gas cooker, large Belfast sink and a lot of counter and cupboard space and seating, this is also where the helm and controls are located.
The living room area has a fixed desk area and a folding down desk so two people can comfortably work from home. Plenty of cupboard and shelf space which spreads back under the gunnels. Solid fuel stove for smokeless coal/wood which heats the whole boat up in no time, and can be dialled right back to keep the boat warm overnight.
Webasto diesel heater to provide “instant” hot water as well as an auxiliary room heater. Wet room with shower and a separate toilet cubicle, with a composting toilet.
The bedroom is at the front of the boat with more cupboards and a lifting double bed.
There is a large outdoor space at the back as well as more deck space at the front with a storage hatch below.
The boat is fitted with the DAF 575 engine which appears to be rock solid and, we've been informed, has never failed to start. Around the engine is a large (dry) bilge space providing easy access for maintenance and more dry storage.
The electric system is powered by two mppt solar arrays, Victron inverter and charger. 4x Trojan deep cycle batteries ~400aH and ample USB and 12v sockets fitted throughout.
The steelwork appears to be in good condition for a boat of this age. It has recently had a new baseplate and doubling down the chines where required; there is a 4 year old survey confirming no additional work was needed.
