Built in 1912 the Nederlands, this dutch barge is a Werf & Vissers yard construction.
The current owner has a photo showing this barge with a mast, 2 sails and side lee boards typical of traditional dutch barges called Tjalk. The barge was used to transport earth until 1960, when she was transformed as a motor cruiser live aboard barge.

We enter in a the cockpit on port or starboard. The canvas of the cockpit can be closed entirely or open partially according to the needs or the weather. The photos are showing a blue tarpaulin on the red canvas, that’s only a winter protection. In the cockpit is the only steering position and under the cockpit floor lies the engine room with all the technical commodities, except the electric panels which are in the saloon cupboard. Headroom from 1,86 m to 1,70 m at the seat level.

The side decks are comfortable and a handle settled on the roof, makes the displacements secure.
The anchor is manual.
On the aft deck, a locker for the generator.
1 bow thruster.
The hull is painted with a epoxy paint under the colored paint. The photo showing the boat underprofile is of June 2013, time of the last antifouling.
1 little inflatable dinghy, to be checked because not used for 10 years.
1 bicycle rack for 2 bikes at stern.
Diesel tank filled in with 640 liters.

Broker's Comments

Boatshed Bourgogne is happy to offer this live aboard Dutch barge, houseboat, tjalk built in the Netherlands in 1912, converted in a motor cruiser in the 60’s, for sale in France, north Burgundy.

Character, charm & comfort !! Very well maintained by her owner, this old lady has benefited from 2 new engines, main engine and bow thruster. Very flat boat, with 2 proper cabins. The forward cabin has a king size bed accessible on 2 sides. The very big shower, the comfortable galley and saloon, all the storage spaces, the cabin heating allow to live all the year long on this dutch barge. Less than 20 meters long, starting is nevertheless very easy.

A good looking featured boat for Tjalk or live aboard barge lovers, the comfort on top! Possible for living all the year long
