Fischer Panda UK debuts Energy Recovery watermaker at SIBS
Fischer Panda UK is introducing a revolutionary new watermaker at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show.
The next generation Parker Hannifin H2O ECO Series of reverse osmosis water desalination systems will be showcased to visitors for the first time, alongside the full range of Fischer Panda UK’s latest technology and equipment on stand E020.
The H2O ECO Energy Recovery units have been specifically designed for leisure marine applications and work with AC or DC power, so can be used by boat owners who do not have a generator on board. They are also quiet and smooth running, requiring minimal maintenance.
Engineered for small to mid-size sailboats and catamarans, the automatic watermakers are available in two models which, Fischer Panda UK says, can provide reliable production of 400 or 600 gallons per day (GPD) of safe water for drinking and cooking. Both models have low power consumption: the 12V/24V 400 GPD unit produces 17 gallons per hour of potable water at 240W; and, for boaters requiring higher capacity, the 600 GPD version produces 25 gallons per hour at 437W, which equates to about 1 amp for every 3 litres of water – this, the company claims, is up to 14.2 per cent more power efficient compared to other leading watermaker brands.

With fully automated operation, daily access to the unit is not necessary so the compact Energy Recovery watermaker can be installed into tight spaces.
