Hallberg-Rassy started as an amalgamation of the yards of two rival Swedish boatbuilders, Harry Hallberg and Christoph Rassy in 1972. They have always specialised in comfortable sailing boats suitable for longer voyages and the Hallberg-Rassy 38 is a fantastic example of that ideal.
202 Hallberg-Rassy 38s were produced between 1977 - 1986, making this particular boat one of the last builds before they were replaced by the HR 382. She was designed with high freeboard, low superstructure and a trademark HR fixed windscreen so voluminous below and large deck area make her comfortable for high or low latitude cruising.
She has plenty of space to sail with crew however is eminently suitable for short-handed sailing. Her inmast furling main and electric cockpit winches make sail handling easy and her hybrid keel/rudder design along with a bowthruster mean power handling in the marina is much more of a pleasurable experience than traditionally with a long keeled vessel as she can reliably be turned in her own length.
She is ashore in a good yard and so available for easy inspection as soon as the restrictions allow
The owner may consider a part exchange so please do let us know if this is of interest
