Broker's Comments
Following the worldwide success of the timber Nordic Folkboats, Marieholmsbruk in Sweden commissioned designer Tord Sundén to redesign the boat for GRP construction. The International Folkboat was first built in 1969. The sea-kindly lines were retained while a more graceful profile, more interior room, and more sail area for better light air performance were achieved
They are extremely solid well built boats, hand laid GRP with an encapsulated long keel and so it is not unusual to find them crossing oceans however they are also one of the largest One design racing classes in Sweden. She'd make a lovely coastal cruiser or day boat, easy to sail single or short handed but enough space for a family to enjoy. And she'll turn heads wherever she goes
Over the last 4 years she has undergone a complete refurbishment, new engine, rig, sails, upholstery as well as paint and varnish and everything has been done both professionally and sympathetically. The teak interior gives her a classic feel however she looks remarkably modern, clean and light and fresh below and sleek and shiny on deck.
You'll find her well maintained, well presented and equipped. A really lovely boat, serviced and antifouled and ready for the season
