Riikka Currie-Smith - Boatshed Plymouth & Torbay

After deciding she wanted a new challenge, Riikka joined Boatshed Plymouth in April 2021 and a few months later took over Boatshed Torbay with her husband Jason.

She has worked in the travel industry for the last 30 years so we're sure she will enjoy selling boats to customers and finding out where they will be travelling.

Her best experience on a boat so far was bringing their Bavaria along the River Thames to South Dock at night time. Such an experience and so many things to see. She doesn't have any horror stories to tell about boating as thinks it's all such a hoot! She loves boating around South Devon where they are based and her longest trip so far is from Torquay to London.

  • Pastrami and gherkin is her favourite sandwich filling
  • She loves a glass of Champagne

  • Her first pet was called Louie

Riikka would pick a Bavaria as her boat of choice to arrive on a desert island. She'd take a good autobiography to read and listen to Pink, Queen or anything classical.

When Riikka isn't working she loves to walk her dog, spend time in the kitchen cooking or doing some knitting.
