Senior appointments at National Coastwatch
The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), part of HM Coastguard which keeps a visual and listening watch along the coastline of England and Wales, has announced two senior appointments.
David Crozier has been appointed chief executive officer and Linda Lawrence is the new head of operations for the charity, which has 57 lookouts and over 2,500 trained volunteers.
David Crozier has volunteered for NCI for eleven years and has previously worked as a training officer, public relations officer, station manager, DFS assessor, liaison officer with HMCG, and trustee: operations. He brings broad experience to the CEO role, which is new to NCI. He is keen to further the consolidation and promotion of NCI in its present role and to expand its activities to embrace risk prevention as well as protection of lives along our coastline.
Linda Lawrence has volunteered for NCI for nine years and has previously worked as a station manager, national support officer, DFS assessor, and member of the new stations development team. She brings a wealth of operations experience to her new role and is looking forward to leading NCI operations nationally as the charity moves towards its next stage of development as ‘eyes along the coast’.
“These two appointments represent the implementation of our new management executive which is the way forward for senior management of NCI,” says NCI chairman, Clive Pouncey, of the new appointments.
