Broker's Comments
Boatshed Grand Union are delighted to offer this Thames Lighter Barge Houseboat for sale with residential mooring and garden.
The boat was built sometime in the 1940's and has been extensively refurbished since 2011. The hull was plated with 8mm steel at the same time and blacked.
The HR2 Lister is currently out of the boat being refurbished and this dates from the 1960's. It will be refitted before the boat is sold.
Internally, the boat benefits from lots of natural light through the many windows and the 4m beam means the living areas are very spacious and usable. There are two good sized double cabins and a bathroom with full sized bath and shower.
The residential mooring at Packet Boat Marina benefits from a large garden area and the mooring is fully transferable on payment of a 5% transfer fee to the marina. Current mooring fees are roughly £8,500 p.a.
The berth has 240V electricity, free water and West Drayton station is 20 mins walk. There is also parking available for residents and a great community spirit amongst the fellow boat owners. It's like living in a small village with great security and tranquility all around the marina.
