Boatshed confessions from PSP International Southampton boat show
The Boatshed team are just about getting back to normal now after the PSP International Southampton boat show, our wonderful shed has been dismantled and everything has been packed away ready for our next boat show. The Boatshed team always enjoy Southampton boat show and the thing that makes it so special for us is to meet so many of our customers.
The show based on the South coast of England has a truly international flavour, we had people visiting us on our stand from all across the world including New Zealand, Australia and the far East as well as quite a crowd from the USA.
We love to hear your boating stories and most people who came on the stand were interested in either buying a boat or getting more information about selling their boat. We had great enquiries from those interested in starting their own Boatshed business and becoming a yacht broker or getting involved with one of our existing businesses but it was the stories about the less usual uses for the Boatshed site which really made us smile.
CONFESSION NUMBER 1
Several gentlemen confessed to spending far too much time browsing through the boats we have for sale especially the detailed photos, in fact one or two chaps likened Boatshed to something far more illicit; all those pictures of intimate parts of each boat and a description of what she feels like, they even have to switch off if their wives come in the room for fearing of being caught looking at pictures again!
CONFESSION NUMBER 2
Then there was the chap who found Boatshed too late, but still looks regularly. He bought his boat last year after 3 wasted journeys and over 2,000 miles travelling to boats which were not as described. He now has a lovely 34 foot sailing yacht and spends his evenings looking at similar boats to see how they are laid out and what modifications people have made to them.
CONFESSION NUMBER 3
Our all time favourite confession was from the gentleman who does a lot of crewing on other peoples’ boats but struggles to remember each one. Once he’s packed his kit bag, watered the plants and farmed the cat out he settles down to familiarize himself with the layout of his next boat and the position of all the important things like the engine controls, batteries and instruments courtesy of Boatshed’s famous pictures.
We do love to hear from you and hope everyone who came to the show had a fantastic time, if you do see us at a boat show near you then please say hello, you can find out more about the Boatshed boat brokerage system on the links below.
