Boatshed International Yacht Brokers cross the Channel
Its over 10 years since the first Boatshed office opened in Milford Haven, the group is today amongst the world leaders in Yacht Brokerage. With representation in such far flung places as Seattle and Phuket, coverage is genuinely global.
Here is Europe recent developments have seen the group establishing footholds in Ireland and Holland, and, as of this month, Boatshed is open for business in France.
Boatshed St Malo takes the brand into an entirely new market, where few English language companies have been able to make any inroads.
So, Boatshed are very clear that this new office is French through and through, albeit taking advantage of the highly developed systems of the group. And of course, every boat listed will be individually inspected and photographed by a Boatshed broker who will make available up to 80 detailed photographs of every boat on the website.
Colin Sinclair and Marc Noel are both well known in the marine trade in France, and have been offering brokerage services on a limited basis in St Malo for over 10 years. Marc is a highly respected sailmaker, part of the Technique Voile group, responsible for Northern France and for export markets. Colin cut his brokerage teeth with Berthon 30 years ago, served as Westerly’s Export Manager for some years and latterly owned and ran Michael Schmidt & Partner in Hamble and St Malo for 15 years, developing a close working relationship with Marc. With the decision to introduce the Boatshed brand in France, the existing office within Marc Noel’s sail loft is being integrated into the Boatshed network. As with all Boatshed businesses, the office, vehicles and boats will soon carry the distinctive Boatshed branding.
St Malo is a great place to start, with easy connections to the South of England, and indeed the St Malo office will be working closely with Boatshed Hamble, Boatshed Cowes and other offices facilitating the sale and purchase of used boats between Britain and France, enabling buyers and sellers to relax in the certain knowledge that experienced professionals with in depth knowledge of the differences between the 2 countries, will be looking after them at every stage.
Brittany Ferries run a daily cruise ferry service from Portsmouth to St Malo and Boatshed are working with Brittany Ferries to offer something a little special to Boatshed clients travelling on the Channel’s leading ferry fleet.
