A rare 2006 Ford GT which is one of just 27 examples supplied to the UK, will be on display on the Silverstone Auctions stand (F004).
With the YachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show celebrating its 50th anniversary, visitors to this year’s show taking place on 14th to 23rd September will be able to see some fantastic engineering heritage more commonly associated with the road rather than the open seas.
For the first time ever, specialist classic car auction house, Silverstone Auctions, will be exhibiting at the Show (stand number F004), giving visitors the chance to see a selection of rare and stunning classic cars in the flesh. As well as displaying some of the lots which will be available to buy in its forthcoming sales, the team from Silverstone Auctions will be available to demystify the auction process and discuss how visitors can buy or sell their own classic car easily through them.
“We’re delighted to be exhibiting at this year’s Southampton Boat Show for the very first time,” explains Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions. “We regularly attend major classic car events across the country but this will be the first time we have presented ourselves directly to the boating community. Many of our existing classic car customers share my own passion for boats so we think the event will be an ideal platform to not only showcase some of the fantastic cars we offer, but also to discuss with visitors how we can help them buy or sell their own classic car.”
Silverstone Auctions was established in 2011 and hold the exclusive automotive auction rights for Silverstone Circuit. As well as hosting a number of sales at the home of British motorsport, Silverstone Auctions also holds sales at other major events including Race Retro and the NEC Classic Show.

“Classic car ownership can incredibly satisfying from both a driving pleasure and investment perspective. Indeed, values of classics have far outstripped traditional investments over the last decade and many owners are now looking to liquidate these valuable assets. Equally, some boat owners find they no longer have the time to indulge both their classic car and boating passions and may be looking at moving their cars on. Either way, the show will provide a great opportunity for us to discuss the options and process with owners in a relaxed environment,” concludes Nick.
