Hayling Island Sailing Club to open its doors
Interested in sailing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, canoeing or sail or motor cruising? Looking for a friendly club that welcomes all generations and abilities as well as families across a wide variety of water borne activities?
Hayling Island Sailing Club’s open day takes place on 28 May. There will be fun activities, a hospitable welcome, café’s and bars, live music and people on hand to tell you all about the club and its incredible range of activities both waterside and social. There’s the added incentive of a waiver on joining fees for anyone taking out membership before June 2018, representing a saving of £350.There’s never been a better time to join Hayling Island Sailing Club and you don’t have to own a boat to be a member.
The club sits in a stunning position at the entrance to Chichester Harbour with access to the water at all states of the tide, as well as a gorgeous sandy beach and sheltered lagoon. The club supports a wide variety of activities including dinghy training, racing and sailing, a very active youth sailing programme, windsurfing, paddle-boarding and kayaking and a friendly and active cruiser and social sailing calendar.
With stunning views over Chichester Harbour, the club has wide and welcoming balconies, beaches and picnic areas as well as a barista café, large bar, restaurant and snack bar plus comfortable onsite accommodation, modern changing rooms, meeting rooms and training facilities.
For families wishing to take up an activity that will embrace all ages, HISC offers fun and engaging water-based events for toddlers through to adults, a special Women on Water initiative as well as an exciting and competitive dinghy racing and cruiser scene for anyone willing to give it a go. The club has an extensive hire boat fleet of over 30 boats to make access to the water as easy, low-cost and hassle-free as possible; everything from children’s boats to family picnic boats and brand-new racing dinghies are available to rent for the day.
For cruiser owners there is an active racing and social schedule, as well as low cost moorings, for board sports and canoeing enthusiasts there is free parking, easy access to the water and on-site showers, café, restaurant and bar as well as a fun and social activities programme.
