Kreisel Electric to supply batteries for new E1 powerboat championship

The E1 Series and Kreisel Electric are joining forces to bring the world’s first electric powerboat championship to the water. Kreisel Electric will supply the battery for each electric RaceBird powerboat competing in the E1 Series, set to begin in early 2023.

Using innovative hydrofoil technology, the electric RaceBird powerboats will rise above the water’s surface, allowing for minimum drag and maximum energy efficiency.

With a peak power of 150kW and 35kWh battery capacity, Kreisel says its technology will enable the powerboats to achieve fast acceleration and longer range between charges.

Kreisel is a pioneer in the electric vehicle battery industry and will use its customisable state-of-the-art, lithium-ion battery module technology.

Due to the patented immersion cooling technology, Kreisel modules were chosen to set a new benchmark for delivering the required continuous high-power output for the RaceBird.

Kreisel’s immersion cooling technology has applications in both electric motorsport and powerboating. Kreisel has developed innovations in electrification as the exclusive powertrain provider of the FIA World RX1e Racing Kit, as well as developing the drivetrain for other marine projects.
