Max Power launches new series of Eco Proportional Thrusters
Max Power, manufacturer of bow and stern thrusters, has launched a new series of Eco Proportional Thrusters.
While the thrusters were officially launched at the METSTRADE show in Amsterdam this year, Max Power distributors had the opportunity to be the first to take a close look at the new series at the Lofrans’ & Max Power Convention 2023 held in Greece in September.
Max Power says its new series marks an evolution in the thruster market due to its AC brushless electric motor, which reduces power consumption. It consists of three models with different thrust: Eco Pro 90, Eco Pro 110 and Eco Pro 130, suitable for boats from 28ft to 60ft length.
The AC brushless motors are said to offer increased energy efficiency, power density, durability and reliability than traditional DC ones, and less noise and less vibration during operation.
The improved efficiency means that the motor does not generate heat, so the temperature is almost stable, and the motor can work for longer periods of time. In addition, as these thrusters are brushless, they do not generate dust, reducing the maintenance required.
Max Power says that being 100 per cent proportional, the new series of Max Power Eco Pro Thrusters can produce the exact amount of thrust that the user needs, offering smooth proportional control of the thruster and boat manoeuvring.
The firm says its new Eco Pro thrusters are also up to 40 per cent more compact than conventional DC thrusters.
A mobile app by Max Power allows the user to monitor the battery voltage of the thruster, the motor temperature, the motor speed, the percentage of the thrust the boat produces, and the consumption that the thruster generates.
Each model comes with a proportional joystick for precise accuracy, 10m of CAN cable, and instructions for the mobile application.
