MDL Marinas expands dry stack storage capacity
UK-based marina operator MDL reports a recent rise in interest in its dry stack options, with boaters prioritising secure and well-maintained storage. The firm says it is meeting demand with expanded capacity and additional dry stack features across its marina portfolio.
MDL Marinas says it is adapting to meet this trend through its dry stack facilities. These storage solutions are designed for RIBs and motorboats up to 13 metres in length, offering comprehensive protection during the winter months.
The firm conducted a recent survey highlighting that its dry stack occupancy rates are consistently above the industry average. MDL says this reflects its investment in improving facilities and providing reliable service. It highlights Sparkes Marina, for instance, which has expanded its services to address increasing demand along the south coast.

Core features of dry stack storage include secure storage, easy access, reduced maintenance needs and unlimited launching seven days a week. MDL also integrates its Otium Rewards programme, allowing dry stack customers to earn and redeem points across its services.
“With four dry stack facilities along the south coast, we’ve become the first choice for boat owners,” says Tim Mayer, sales and marketing director at MDL Marinas. “Our facilities deliver not just secure storage but a premium experience that makes boating easy and enjoyable. The growth we’ve experienced reflects our unwavering commitment to exceeding customer expectations and staying ahead in a competitive market.”
MDL’s dry stack locations include Cobb’s Quay Marina in Poole Harbour, Saxon Wharf in central Southampton, Sparkes Marina in Chichester Harbour and Hamble Point Marina on the River Hamble, which is undergoing extensive upgrades worth £1.2m. These facilities offer additional amenities, such as bars and restaurants, showers and toilets, fast Wi-Fi, ample parking, and on-site maintenance and repair services.
