Outer Reef Yachts, a leading manufacturer of long-range motor yachts, has announced a strategic merger with Dutch shipyard Lynx Yachts, marking a significant expansion of its global operations. The merger is aimed at enhancing Outer Reef’s presence in Europe and leveraging the Netherlands’ strong tradition of yacht building.

The merger with Lynx Yachts allows Outer Reef Yachts to strengthen its European foothold and benefit from the expertise of Lynx’s skilled management team, renowned for their work in the Dutch superyacht industry. After a year-long evaluation of European shipyards, which included on-site visits to various yards across Europe, including Turkish and Dutch facilities, Outer Reef selected Lynx for its exemplary build processes. The merger will support Outer Reef’s plans to expand its product line and grow its influence across global cruising grounds.

Jeff Druek, CEO of Outer Reef Yachts, says: “Expanding our presence in the Netherlands and integrating the highly regarded Lynx Yachts management team into our operations marks a significant milestone for Outer Reef Yachts. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and quality, enabling us to meet the growing demand for adventure yachting across Europe, the United States, Australia, and beyond.”

Under this new alliance, the shipyard will operate as Outer Reef Yachts – Netherlands, further cementing the company’s focus on the European market.

The first yacht, currently under construction at this facility, will be the Outer Reef Yachts Adventure 780, set to launch in February 2025. This vessel will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Outer Reef, as the shipyard embarks on the construction of a range of models spanning 24 to 43 metres.

According to Outer Reef Yachts, its plan for global expansion is not limited to Europe. This alliance will enable the boatbuilder to strategically design and produce new yachts that cater to the increasing demand for explorer and long-range yachting across major cruising grounds worldwide.
