Saxdor launches pilot AI system and virtual showroom at boot 2025
Saxdor Yachts has showcased several of its latest innovations, and given updates on its continued growth, during a press conference held yesterday (21 January 2025) at boot Düsseldorf.
The Finnish boatbuilder, headquartered in Helsinki, used the event to introduce Saxdor AI and a virtual showroom, as well as the incorporation of the Fathom e-Power system.
At the event, Saxdor unveiled a pilot project for its Saxdor AI and virtual showroom, developed with Younite and Cadentia Technologies. Saxdor AI aims to provide personalised, interactive support during the buying process, guiding customers from boat configuration to post-purchase onboarding and support. The virtual showroom offers an immersive digital experience with photorealistic visuals, real-time configuration, and detailed interior and exterior views, making it easier for potential buyers to explore the Saxdor range remotely.
Saxdor reported a record-breaking 2024, with annual revenue exceeding €100m. In just five years since its founding, the company has achieved the milestone of producing more than 500 boats per year, a dealership network of 152 locations across the globe, and entry into eight new markets in the past year. The firm confirmed its workforce has also grown to over 600 employees.
“I’m proud to say that we’re forerunners in bringing modern solutions for our customers to enjoy. From AI-driven conversations to showcasing our boats through a virtual showroom, customers can engage with Saxdor and experience our boats in a whole new way,” says Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor Yachts. “This innovation demonstrates our commitment to leveraging modern technology to enhance the brand experience and provide customers with the best possible way to explore our boats prior to purchase.”
Future updates aim to expand the platform to include the entire Saxdor fleet, offering a fully integrated experience. “Saxdor has an enthusiastic and committed customer base that expects the same premium experience on their customer relationship and support as they have with the Saxdor boat itself,” says Tatu Heikkilä, CEO of Cadentia Technologies. “Saxdor AI provides the responsiveness, personalisation, expert support and continuity to deliver on that.”
The virtual showroom was developed by New York-based AI firm Younite. Afa Heikkinen, CEO of Younite, says: “It has been a privilege to collaborate with a company like Saxdor, whose passion for innovation, and commitment to embracing modern technologies align seamlessly with our vision. They think and act alike when it comes to customer experience and focus.”
Saxdor also presented the Fathom e-Power system, a lithium-ion auxiliary power management solution developed in partnership with Navico Group. This system offers an alternative to traditional diesel generators, providing power for high-demand systems, including air conditioning and Seakeeper stabilisation, which can now be integrated into Saxdor’s 400 models. The system was showcased on the Saxdor 400 GTC at Düsseldorf and will also feature on the forthcoming 460 model, both powered by V10-400 engines.
Additionally, Saxdor announced that its new flagship model, the Saxdor 460, will debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2025. The model marks the company’s entry into a larger segment of the market.
To meet escalating demand, Saxdor Yachts opened a new shipyard in Larsmo, Finland in August 2024, dedicated to manufacturing larger models. Additionally, Saxdor has partnered with TechnoLab to produce smaller boats, including the popular 200 series.
Saxdor Yachts, founded in 2019, operates a shipyard in Elk, Poland, and its new 4,000m² facility in Larsmo. The company also invests in workforce development through the Saxdor Academy, which provides specialised training for shipbuilding professionals.
