As well as being one of Dorset’s favourite boating destinations, Dean & Reddyhoff’s Portland Marina is also a diverse and growing business community that has recently welcomed several new tenants.

The location of the commercial space, directly adjacent to the water, is a clear attraction for many marine organisations.

Two innovative marine technology companies have recently dropped anchor in Portland. Atlas Elektronik UK are set to use the coastal facility for product development and testing, and the open water is the perfect operating environment for Subsea Craft.

The thriving community of Portland Marina has 25 business units from shops and offices to boatsheds and workshops, which are let to local companies. Portland Marina supports over 100 jobs, both on-site by Dean & Reddyhoff and tenant companies, and indirect with local contractors.

Dean & Reddyhoff Managing Director Michael Prideaux, comments on the new tenant arrivals, “It is fantastic to see so much diverse interest in Portland Marina and so many exciting businesses choosing our marina as their base. Attracting new businesses, is not only critical to the future of Portland Marina but essential to strengthening the local economy.”

Portland Marina is a leisure destination attracting thousands of visitors on boat, bike and foot. The pub, café, chandlery, boat sales and sea school offer lots for seasoned boaters and first time adventurers – all with views of the stunning Jurassic coastline.

Why Boats, an international yacht broker, has recently joined the growing crew to open and picked Portland Marina for the location of its second south coast office.

The beautiful location attracts companies from outside the marine sector. Business technology consultants, ITSupport 365, has recently expanded into new offices on site.

Contemporary collage seascape and abstract artist, Keith ‘Kitt’ Athay, has opened an art studio and gallery – providing artistic inspiration and creativity for Dean & Reddyhoff’s berth holders and visitors.
