The annual Silverrudder Race started this morning. The challenge is to navigate the 134 miles around the Island of Fyn in Denmark, single handed, under bridges, through narrow channels, against strong currents, avoiding unlit fishing gear at night time, battling the weather and staying awake. This has to be one of the toughest races to do single handed with constant wind changes, various re-routing depending upon the height of your mast.

The Race route is governed by the direction of the wind, this year they are racing around Fyn anticlockwise.

We are following Signe Storr the Freelance Journalist who wrote for us from the Caribbean earlier in the year (only started sailing a few years ago) and this is the first time single handed. She is sailing a Faurby 363.

Signe be safe and enjoy it : )
