Spirit Yachts has announced it is recruiting staff to add to the existing team at the company’s headquarters in Ipswich, Suffolk on the east coast.

The recruitment drive is a response to a healthy order book for new sailing yachts and continued interest in the company’s sail and motor yacht designs.

Mike Taylor, managing director and head of production at Spirit Yachts, said: “Having analysed the production schedule and with our current enquiry rate, we are looking to recruit up to 20 staff by the end of the year.”

Spirit Yachts currently employs a team of designers, naval architects, boat builders, finishers, cabinetmakers, and electrical and engineering experts.

Mike Taylor added: “We are keen to talk to experienced candidates and applicants of any level who have the right attitude to learn what it takes to design and build the most exquisite wooden yachts in the world. Our existing team comprises highly skilled craftsmen and women of all ages and backgrounds. Each project is customised and unique, meaning staff enjoy a varied, creative and innovative working environment.”

This year, Spirit Yachts will launch a Spirit 65DH (deckhouse) sailing yacht, a Spirit 72DH, a Spirit 30 day sailor and a P40 superyacht tender.
