US SV Angel Louise - not a bad night... just about dawn
We are just about in the exact middle of the Atlantic. Going through some
rain squalls as I write this just before our 9 am dawn on Jan 2. We now are doing shifts at night: Ed 9pm till 2; then Ed sleeps till 6, then Ed on 6 till after 9 or 10am... We are a little better rested.
We enjoyed the rain - first of this trip - that we had this early am and a little bit ago. Maybe after this little squall line we can have another sunny day like Thursday.
Present at 16 deg 59.5 min North 40 deg 14 min West...
Showing 1,221 nautical miles to go to Antigua... We are on day 16 of this seemingly never ending trip... but we can see we are nibbling off bits of distance here and there.
The trip for us over the Northern Route to Falmouth England was broken up by stops... We were 7 1/2 days from Georgia to Bermuda, then 19 1/2 days to Horta in the Azores, then 12 1/2 days to England.
Tomorrow marks my birthday in Kearney, Nebraska in 1946, I guess I am a 25,000+ day old baby. Still not fully developed but growing!
Using engine to charge up Cold Plate in refrigerator, and to run all the electrons thru the integrated inside and outside chartplotter and radar, and to keep battery charged and have the power if needed in squall penetration.
