Anisha Roberts, an apprentice engineer at Williams Jet Tenders, has received the BAE Systems Advanced Apprentice of the Year Award at the 21st Annual National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards.
Held at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on 27 November, the event, organised by the UK Government Department for Education, celebrates top apprenticeship talent and skills training.
Roberts’ recognition at the national level follows her earlier success as the South East Regional Winner.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive this award,” says Roberts, who is currently undertaking an EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering.
“My apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to pursue my passion, develop my skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. I hope my journey inspires others to explore the incredible potential of apprenticeships and I want to take the time to thank the team at Williams for the incredible opportunities and support they have given me.”
Roberts has also received the Best of British Engineering Award at the 2023 Enginuity Awards and the British Marine Apprentice of the Year Award 2024, reflecting her significant contributions to the field.
John Hornsby, founder and technical director of Williams Jet Tenders, comments: “Anisha’s passion and determination embody the very best of what apprenticeships can achieve. Her contributions have been invaluable, and we are immensely proud of her well-deserved recognition.”
The National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards emphasise the importance of high-quality apprenticeships in building skilled workforces and supporting industry growth. Apprenticeships provide individuals with essential skills and experience, helping them excel in their careers while enabling businesses to develop talent crucial for future success.
